Q. How can I set up an appointment?  
A. Please call (706) 774-9000 during Office hours to make an appointment.
  
Q. What are the Office hours for Georgia Cardiovascular Associates?
A. Our office hours are 8:30 to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays.
  
Q. What information do I need to provide at the time of the appointment?
A.

The Appointment Personnel will request the following information:

  • Your Name
  • Your Date of birth
  • Reason for appointment (Chest pain, shortness of breath, etc)
  • Your contact information (address, telephone number, etc.)
  • Your primary physician's name, if you are referred from his or her office

Q. What should I do in case of a cardiac problem or an emergency?
A.

Our office telephone number is answered 24/7, day and night, by our office staff or the Answering service. If you are having a cardiac problem or an emergency, call (706) 774-9000 and either your cardiologist, or the cardiologist on call will be contacted. Depending upon the type of problem that you are having, you may be advised to come to the office or go to the Emergency Room.
If you are having a true emergency and if there is any delay in the response time, please proceed to the nearest emergency room.


Q. How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?
A. We would appreciate at least a 48 hours notice about an appointment change. This will allow another patient to get an earlier appointment, in your time slot. Please call (706) 774-9000 to have your appointment rescheduled. If you are running late for an appointment please call the same number and inform us about your expected time of arrival.
  
Q. What preparations are needed for an appointment?
A.

Please remember to bring the following items to your appointment:

  • Identification (Driver's license, Social security card) and Health Insurance cards
  • Referral form, if you are provided one by your HMO or referring physician
  • List of current medications, including prescription drugs, over the counter medications, vitamins, herbal preparations, etc.
  • Relevant information about allergies, intolerance to medications, and information about medical, surgical and important family history
  • If you have been provided with EKG's, x-rays, cath studies, or medical records, please bring them along
  • Additional instructions will be provided to you if you are scheduled for a specialized test.
