Slide 12/27
What should be done?
- Nearly 50% of patients wait two or more hours before
seeking help. Delay in treatment increases
the amount lost heart muscle (which may have been saved with
prompt treatment).
-
The delay raises the amount of disability
and increases the risk of sudden death.
-
When a heart attack is suspected,
activity should be stopped and the person must lie down and
rest.
